Why autumn is the new spring…..

As the blissfully long days start turning their back on us for golden brown leaves and cosier nights, it’s important that our street lighting is in tip top condition while we are forced to accept that winter is only a whisker away. So, while many of us stoically push the flip flops and Ray Bans to the back of the wardrobe for another year, the team at LPC get excited about what the autumn brings, and it’s time for them to spring into action.

With their ongoing commitment to Scottish & Southern Energy, LPC has just been awarded a new contract to conduct further works to its London division. The bulk of the work is to provide duct and cable installation systems throughout Islington and Ealing as part of an ongoing PFI lighting scheme. With the new all night tube system on London Underground finally up and running, this means more nocturnal footfall throughout the city. With the increased night service to the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines scheduled for launch this autumn too, there are more people than ever traveling around the suburbs night and day. This means that the need for well-lit streets in the interest of pedestrian safety, is more important than ever. With years of experience in the street lighting industry, LPC uses highly qualified, trade accredited staff to provide safe, turn-key solutions on electricity mains networks and infrastructure (HV and LV) across London and metropolitan areas.

Not only is there a diligent team at LPC dedicated to the PFI lighting project, they are also busy whizzing around South London and the counties of Kent, Sussex and Surrey for UK Power Networks on its LPN (London) and SPN (Southern) networks. By replacing low voltage link boxes, LPC provides a full turn-key service in which they oversee the entire process. This involves planning the works and liaising with local authorities, including the Highways Agency; particularly critical to operations because of the recent changes to the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA). LPC prides itself on its reputation for safety in the workplace but also for keeping one step ahead of any legislative changes, which means that their clients can be sure that all of their assignments are completed in accordance with the most up to date requirements. By installing the equipment safely, replacing failing and out-dated infrastructure with upgraded, state of the art systems, LPC is a trusted contractor for low voltage link box replacement systems.

So, get those hats and scarves at the ready as we take an autumnal leaf out of LPC’s book, and embrace what this season brings.
